Lux Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, came to 5.33 Indian rupees per share, an increase of 68.5% from 3.16 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 134.6 million rupees, an increase of 68.5% from 79.9 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 5.4% from 3.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 21.3% year over year to 2.49 billion rupees from 2.05 billion rupees, and total operating expenses increased 19.8% from the prior-year period to 2.24 billion rupees from 1.87 billion rupees.
Reported net income rose 66.5% year over year to 142.3 million rupees, or 5.64 rupees per share, from 85.5 million rupees, or 3.38 rupees per share.
As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 68.19 Indian rupees.
