Marsh &McLennan Cos. Inc. unit Marsh LLC has hired David Hewett as U.S. contract suretyleader in the company's construction practice, Insurance Journal reported.

Hewett will work with Marsh's surety practice to serve U.S.construction clients in this newly-created position. He is based in Baltimore and will report to U.S. construction leader DavidMarino.

Previously, Hewett was president of XL Insurance'ssurety division. Prior to that, he led the North American domestic suretyoperation at Zurich InsuranceGroup Ltd.
