Barcelona-based Grifols SA closed the €220 million acquisition of Haema AG, a German plasma collection company.
The Spanish drugmaker said all the conditions to acquire 100% of Haema's shares had been fulfilled.
Grifols acquired the business from Aton GmbH, an investment firm. Haema owns and operates Germany's largest independent network of blood donation and transfusion service centers and employs about 1,100 people.
The deal includes 35 donation centers in nine German states plus three more under construction, a 24,000-square-meter building in Leipzig where the company's headquarters are located, and a central laboratory in Berlin.
Osborne Clarke SLP acted as legal adviser for the deal.
