Verizon, NFL ink streaming deal

As expected, Verizon Communications Inc. struck a multiyear streaming deal with the National Football League.

As part of the partnership, Verizon's portfolio of digital and mobile media properties, including Yahoo Sports, will stream in-market and national games, including national pre-season, regular season, playoff games, and the Super Bowl nationwide regardless of mobile network, the company said Dec. 11.

Starting in January 2018, Verizon will stream the NFL playoffs on Yahoo and Yahoo Sports, in addition to go90 and the NFL mobile app. In addition to live games, the new agreement covers NFL highlights, coverage of NFL throughout the week and year, and original content.

Verizon will continue to be an official sponsor of the NFL.
