Speciality Metals International Ltd. said March 14 that it was granted 15 exploration licenses prospective for lithium in Chile's Salar de Pintados, complementing the grant of five exploration concessions in the country's Salar de Bellavista in January.
Specialty Metals will conduct a drilling program, aiming to confirm lithium-bearing groundwater within each salar. The company is also in the process of arranging for the transfer of the 15 new licenses to its wholly owned Chilean subsidiary Special Metals Chile SpA.
