ANA Holdings fiscal Q3 profit climbs 39.1% YOY

All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, was ¥74.67 per share, an increase of 38.9% from ¥53.75 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥26.14 billion, an increase of 39.1% from ¥18.80 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 5.9% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined on an annual basis to ¥446.78 billion from ¥457.81 billion, and total operating expenses declined 5.1% year over year to ¥406.13 billion from ¥427.83 billion.

Reported net income increased 50.5% from the prior-year period to ¥29.12 billion, or ¥83.18 per share, from ¥19.36 billion, or ¥55.34 per share.
