FERC extends deadline for comment on pipeline policy review

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission extended the window for public comment in the agency's review of its almost 20-year-old natural gas pipeline permitting policy.

The extension was issued because of "the complexity of the issues, and our desire to ensure the best possible record," the commission said.

Delaware Riverkeeper asks FERC to reconsider stance on environmental reviews

The Delaware Riverkeeper Network asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to reverse a decision in an individual natural gas pipeline case that the group said would cause widespread harm by limiting the commission's analysis of upstream and downstream impacts of such infrastructure.

Delaware Riverkeeper said by issuing the change in policy as part of a single project docket, FERC deprived many interested parties of their chance to contest the decision.

Rover Pipeline renews requests to place lines in service

Rover Pipeline LLC asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to quickly grant authorization to start service on some of the final portions of the 3.25-Bcf/d natural gas pipeline project that will deliver Appalachian supplies to markets in the Midwest and Canada.

Rover asked the commission to approve the request by May 31, which would allow the developer to meet contractual arrangements for service on June 1.
