JB Hi-Fi Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended June 30 was 43 Australian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 44 cents per share.
EPS climbed 29.0% year over year from 33 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was A$42.8 million, an increase of 27.5% from A$33.6 million in the prior-year period.
Total revenue increased 9.3% year over year to A$1.69 billion from A$1.54 billion, and total operating expenses grew 8.8% year over year to A$1.62 billion from A$1.49 billion.
Reported net income grew 26.0% from the prior-year period to A$48.0 million, or 48 cents per share, from A$38.1 million, or 38 cents per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled A$1.22 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of A$1.32.
EPS rose 8.3% from A$1.13 in the prior year.
Normalized net income was A$122.2 million, a rise of 7.1% from A$114.1 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to A$3.65 billion from A$3.48 billion, and total operating expenses rose year over year to A$3.45 billion from A$3.29 billion.
The company said reported net income grew 6.3% on an annual basis to A$136.5 million, or A$1.36 per share, in the full year, from A$128.4 million, or A$1.27 per share.
