Bookoff fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Bookoff Corp. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥12.03 per share, a decrease of 58.4% from ¥28.92 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥248.8 million, a decrease of 52.7% from ¥526.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 1.4% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 10.5% year over year to ¥17.88 billion from ¥19.97 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 8.6% on an annual basis to ¥17.57 billion from ¥19.23 billion.

Reported net income declined 56.9% year over year to ¥201.0 million, or ¥9.72 per share, from ¥466.0 million, or ¥25.61 per share.
