Japan's KDDI, Sumitomo team up to enter Myanmar's mobile game market

Japanese telco KDDI Corp. is partnering with Tokyo-based general trading company Sumitomo Corp. to enter Myanmar's mobile game market.

The companies will jointly operate a mobile game publishing business in Myanmar through Funcreate Myanmar Ltd., a subsidiary of Singapore-based joint venture Funcreate Pte. Ltd. Both ventures are assembling a collection of mobile games from Japan and other countries for localization and distribution throughout Myanmar.

In addition, KDDI is teaming up with mobile game service provider goGame Pte. Ltd. to jointly work on game procurement, development, operation and marketing throughout Asia.
