Thal fiscal Q3 profit climbs 63.5% YOY

Thal Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 came to 8.19 Pakistani rupees per share, a gain of 63.7% from 5.01 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 663.7 million rupees, a gain of 63.5% from 405.8 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 13.0% from 10.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 29.0% on an annual basis to 5.10 billion rupees from 3.95 billion rupees, and total operating expenses increased 26.1% on an annual basis to 3.95 billion rupees from 3.13 billion rupees.

Reported net income rose 74.4% year over year to 781.8 million rupees, or 9.65 rupees per share, from 448.4 million rupees, or 5.53 rupees per share.

As of April 29, US$1 was equivalent to 101.72 Pakistani rupees.
