Report: Apple ends plans for Weinstein-produced series

Apple Inc. nixed plans for an Elvis Presley-biopic series produced by The Weinstein Co., TechCrunch.com reported Oct. 9, citing a source close to the tech giant.

The deal was canceled amid sexual harassment allegations against the production company's former Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein.

Harvey Weinstein was fired by the board of his company. Leadership of The Weinstein Co. was assumed by Weinstein's brother, Bob Weinstein, and COO David Glasser.
