Consumer prices in Japan, excluding those of fresh food, rose by 0.9% on an annual basis in November before seasonal adjustments, following a 1.0% rise a month ago, data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, consumer prices excluding fresh food were flat in November compared with October.
Fuel, light and water charges climbed 5.0% on an annual basis in November and rose 0.6% on a monthly basis. Transportation and communication prices gained 1.2% year over year in November, but eased by 0.3% month over month.
Excluding fresh food and energy, consumer prices edged 0.3% higher in Japan during November on an annual basis and were flat from the previous month.
