L'Oréal's Giorgio Armani Beauty to launch on Alibaba's Tmall

L'Oréal SA-owned luxury beauty and skincare brand Giorgio Armani Beauty plans to launch a flagship store on Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.'s Tmall platform Jan. 16, according to a Dec. 25 post on the Chinese e-commerce giant's company news site Alizila.

Giorgio Armani Beauty is also set to open a separate store on Tmall's invite-only "Luxury Pavilion," where it will join brands such as Burberry Group Plc, Hugo Boss AG, La Mer, Maserati and LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE's Guerlain.

The collaboration between the beauty brand and Tmall will also offer interactive digital experiences that allow customers to book in-person makeup sessions with beauty advisers and browse products.

Alibaba said the upcoming launch targets the growing demand for high-end cosmetics in China.
