Tesco PLC will remove best-before dates from more of its fresh produce to help customers cut their domestic food waste.
The British supermarket chain said newly commissioned research revealed that 69% of its customers believe that getting rid of the best-before date is "a good idea," while 53% believe it will help them keep good food for longer.
Tesco removed guidance dates from around 70 fruit and vegetable ranges earlier in 2018. It will now remove the dates on 116 more products, including apples, oranges, cabbages and asparagus.
The grocer was one of the U.K. retailers that signed a pledge in September to reduce food waste in the country.
