C.I. Holdings fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

C.I. Holdings Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 was 3 Malaysian sen per share, a gain from 1 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 5.3 million ringgits, an increase from 1.6 million ringgits in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 1.6% from 2.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to 334.1 million ringgits from 71.0 million ringgits, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to 320.6 million ringgits from 68.2 million ringgits.

Reported net income grew on an annual basis to 6.3 million ringgits, or 4 sen per share, from 2.2 million ringgits, or 1 sen per share.

As of May 25, US$1 was equivalent to 4.10 ringgits.
