Harvey Weinstein quits company's board amid scandal

Harvey Weinstein resigned from the board of The Weinstein Co. amid multiple allegations of sexual harassment spanning nearly three decades, Reuters reported, citing a company statement.

The company's board also said it had ratified its earlier decision to fire Weinstein as CEO. The Weinstein Co. recently secured an investment from Colony Capital Inc., which may include an acquisition of some or all of the studio's assets.

Companies such as Toyota Motors Corp.'s Lexus and A&E Television Networks are re-evaluating their business ties with The Weinstein Co. in the wake of the sexual harassment scandal.
