Nonfarmpayrolls grew by 160,000 in April, while the unemployment rate held steady at5.0%, according to the U.S. Labor Department's latest employment situationreport.

Jobgains were seen in professional and business services, health care andfinancial activities, while losses continued in the mining space.

Theconsensus estimate for month-over-month job gains was an increase of 200,000, accordingto Econoday data made available by Bloomberg. The unemployment rate wasexpected to edge down to 4.9%.
