German industrial production decreased by 1.4% in October from last month on a price-, seasonally and working-day-adjusted basis, while the monthly change in September was revised to a 0.9% decrease from a 1.6% fall, provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office showed.
Excluding energy and construction, production was down 2.0% in October.
Capital goods' production dropped 2.7% and consumer goods' production fell 2.6%. The production of intermediate goods slipped 1.0% and production in construction declined 1.3%. Energy production increased 5.1%.
