Sempra Renewables acquires 200-MW Calif. solar project

Sempra Renewables LLC has acquired and assumed construction of the Great Valley solar project in Fresno County, Calif., from Recurrent Energy LLC. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The facility, previously called Tranquillity 8, will have a capacity of 200 MWac, or 281 MWp, upon its expected completion in the third quarter of 2018, according to an Aug. 8 news release. The facility is fully contracted under four independent long-term, power purchase agreements.

Sempra Renewables is a unit of Sempra Energy and Recurrent Energy is a Canadian Solar Inc. subsidiary.
