Nation Multimedia Q1 loss widens 37.5% YOY

Nation Multimedia Group PCL said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to a loss of 26.3 million baht, compared with a loss of 19.2 million baht in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin fell to negative 3.9% from negative 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 8.8% on an annual basis to 674.4 million baht from 739.6 million baht, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to 714.0 million baht from 736.9 million baht.

Reported net income came to a loss of 39.5 million baht, or a loss of 1 satang per share, compared to a loss of 2.9 million baht, or a loss of 0 satang per share, in the prior-year period.

As of May 9, US$1 was equivalent to 35.18 baht.
