Rangpur Dairy & Food Products Q2 profit falls YOY

Rangpur Dairy & Food Products Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to 9 poisha per share, a decrease of 43.3% from 16 poisha per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 6.1 million taka, a decrease of 43.3% from 10.7 million taka in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 5.1% from 8.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased on an annual basis to 119.7 million taka from 120.9 million taka, and total operating expenses climbed 5.4% on an annual basis to 109.1 million taka from 103.5 million taka.

Reported net income declined 44.4% on an annual basis to 9.2 million taka, or 14 poisha per share, from 16.6 million taka, or 25 poisha per share.

As of July 15, US$1 was equivalent to 77.74 taka.
