Aon PLC has named Brian Cochrane chief commercial officer of the new ventures group that was created in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Cochrane most recently was Aon's executive vice president and global leader of mergers and acquisitions and transaction solutions. He will remain executive chairman of that business.

The new ventures group is spearheaded by Lewis Lee, CEO of Aon's intellectual property solutions business.
