Merck KGaA acquires Intermolecular for $62M to develop digital devices

Merck KGaA completed the $62 million acquisition of advanced materials company Intermolecular Inc.

As part of the transaction, 90 employees at Intermolecular's San Jose, Calif.-based research and development site will become part of the performance materials business sector of Merck.

Darmstadt, Germany-based Merck acquired Intermolecular for $1.20 per share through its unit EMD Group Holding II Inc.
