Airbus Group SE said Oct. 16 that it is acquiring a 50.01% stake in Bombardier Inc.'s C-Series aircraft program.
Bombardier will own about 31%, while Investissement Québec will hold 19%.
Under the agreement, Airbus will provide procurement, sales and marketing, and customer support expertise to C Series Aircraft LP, or CSALP, the unit that manufactures and sells the C-Series jets.
None of the partners will contribute cash nor will CSALP assume any debt.
The deal is expected to be completed in the second half of 2018, subject to regulatory approvals.
It throws in Airbus amid Bombardier's trade dispute with Boeing over the C-Series jet. Based on Boeing's complaint, the U.S. government recently slapped anti-subsidy duties on sales of Bombardier's C-Series jets.
