Balmoral Resources Ltd. expanded its RUM nickel project in Quebec after acquiring three new targets similar to the intrusion hosting the property's Bluenose zone, which was discovered in July.
Bluenose contains nickel-copper-cobalt-gold-platinum-palladium mineralization, with gold and platinum group metal values exceeding those of Victory Nickel Inc.'s nearby Lac Rocher nickel deposit.
Balmoral said Aug. 26 that it acquired the RUM Northwest and West properties and further expanded the RUM North property through staking. Preliminary field examinations of the new targets, as well as follow-up work on Bluenose, are scheduled this fall.
Meanwhile, the company said it will try to dispatch crews at the Gargoyle nickel project in Ontario before the end of the fall season, as work was delayed due to its focus on RUM and the Area 52 gold target, part of the Fenelon property in Quebec.
