The Beijing High Court reportedly ruled that Zhongshan PearlRiver Drinks Factory should not have been allowed to register the "facebook" trademark in 2014.
Under Chinese law, a multinational company must prove thatits trademark is well-known within the country. Although blocked to China's 700million internet users due to government censorship, Facebook is being used byChinese companies for advertising purposes.
This ruling comes after the same court against Apple in a case to use the"iPhone" name.
