Plateau Uranium Inc. signed an initial six-month exploration access agreement with the local community of Chaccaconiza to explore a uranium prospective area in the south-central area of its Macusani Plateau concessions in southeastern Peru.
The company also reported Oct. 16 that recent prospecting outlined five large areas with high background radioactivity.
Initial prospecting discovered new uranium mineralization at surface, with grab sampling yielding up to 9,766 parts per million of triuranium octoxide and lithium values ranging up to 1,140 ppm.
Plateau Uranium is drill testing the largest and most prospective area, the Falchani target, with four to six drillholes. Falchani covers about 2 square kilometers of elevated radioactivity.
