Brit Ltd. appointed Jon Sullivan group deputy chief underwriting officer and Simon Bird active underwriter of Lloyd's of London Syndicate 2988, The Insurance Insider reported.
Bird replaces Nic Forti, who is leaving the business. Bird will also take on the newly created role of group executive underwriter,
The moves is related to Brit's restructuring from a divisional setup to six underwriting pillars: casualty treaty, property treaty, facilities, specialty, financial and professional liability, and property.
Brit then named Matt Wood managing director for the casualty treaty pillar, James Winn managing director of property treaty, Andrew Bowers managing director for facilities, Tom Hillier managing director for specialty, and Russell Kennedy managing director of the property pillar. Janet Henderson will head financial and professional liability and become a group executive underwriter.
Additionally, the company appointed Joy Ferneyhough group chief experience officer, effective Jan. 1.
The role changes are subject to regulatory approval, according to the report.
Property and casualty
Aon PLC appointed James Mackay head of Lloyd's relationships, The Insurance Insider reported.
Mackay will lead the insurer's work on arranging capital for Lloyd's businesses. He most recently worked on raising funds for Beazley PLC's beta syndicate, according to the report.
Mackay will replace Vijay Mavani, who has left the company.

Colin Bird stepped down as Besso Ltd.'s nonexecutive chairman, taking up the role of nonexecutive director, The Insurance Insider reported.
In May 2018, Bird gave up his executive responsibilities to become nonexecutive chairman.
