Arthur J. Gallagher acquires Pittsburgh insurance broker, subsidiary

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Pittsburgh-based Allied Insurance Brokers and subsidiary Ascinsure Specialty Risk.

Allied Insurance offers insurance and risk management services to crane, scaffold and equipment dealers throughout the U.S., and nonprofit social services organizations in the western part of Pennsylvania. Ascinsure is a program underwriting manager for the crane and scaffold industries.

Marty O'Brien, Richard Whitlock, Jared Clough and their associates will operate from their current location under Dan Tropp, head of Gallagher's Mid-Atlantic retail property and casualty brokerage operations, as well as Chris Leisz, head of programs for Risk Placement Services Inc.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
