HS India fiscal Q3 profit climbs 6.1% YOY

H S India Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, amounted to 13 Indian paise per share, a gain from 13 paise per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.2 million rupees, a gain of 6.1% from 2.0 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 3.9% from 3.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 5.6% on an annual basis to 55.3 million rupees from 52.4 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 10.4% on an annual basis to 44.9 million rupees from 40.7 million rupees.

Reported net income came to 2.5 million rupees, or 15 paise per share, compared to 2.4 million rupees, or 15 paise per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 68.19 Indian rupees.
