Google, Hutchison Telecom to introduce Chromecast in Hong Kong

Alphabet Inc.'sGoogle Inc. and HutchisonTelecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd., have teamed up to launch Google'ssecond-generation Chromecast in Hong Kong in an effort to give local consumers moreover-the-top content, the South China MorningPost reported April 28.

The telco provider is the first to offer the device in the city.

This partnership is the most recent among Hutchison's OTT-relateddeals, where it previously partnered with Hong Kong broadcasting company TVB forthe latter's mobile app myTV SUPER, fueled by the company's goal of becoming theleading platform for OTT content in Hong Kong.
