Nuclear update: Total US output eases despite Grand Gulf 1 return

Total U.S. nuclear plant availability ticked slightly lowerearly July 21 to 95.42%, down from 95.58% on July 20 and still below the 96.12%reported on the same day in 2015.

Total production slipped despite the return of 's Grand Gulf 1 in Mississippi.The unit was operating at 20% early July 21 after being taken offline June 26.

On the flipside, EnergyNorthwest's Columbia Generating Station in Washington saw output decreasefrom 100% on July 20 to 69% early July 21.

As of early July 21, only Public Service Enterprise Group Inc.'s Salem 1 in New Jerseyremains offline.
