WPPI Energy, Invenergy ink PPA for 132-MW Illinois wind project

WPPI Energy signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Invenergy LLC, according to an Aug. 3 release.

Under the PPA, WPPI Energy will buy energy from the planned 132-MW Bishop Hill III wind project in Henry County, Ill., through mid-2040. The facility is expected to start commercial operations in mid-2018.

"When the Bishop Hill III project comes online, our power supply will be more than 40% emission-free," WPPI Energy President and CEO Mike Peters said in a statement.
