Star India to roll out premium HD sports channels

is planningto launch two premium HD sports channels, Television Post reported July 12.

They willfeature international sporting events such as English Premier League and Bundesligafootball games, Formula 1 races and the French Open and Wimbledon tennistournaments.

TheIndian broadcaster will likely roll out the channels,Star Sports Select HD1 and Star Sports Select HD2, in the first week of August,the report said, citing an unnamed source.

The twochannels were previously called Star Sports Marathi and Star Sports Marathi HD,but India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting approved Star India'srequest to rename the channels.
