Riken Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥103.11 per share, a decline of 9.8% from ¥114.35 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.01 billion, a decrease of 9.7% from ¥1.12 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 5.6% from 6.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined on an annual basis to ¥18.10 billion from ¥18.58 billion, and total operating expenses declined year over year to ¥16.74 billion from ¥17.05 billion.
Reported net income fell 9.6% year over year to ¥1.15 billion, or ¥116.49 per share, from ¥1.27 billion, or ¥129.10 per share.
As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
