Report: Swiss Re, Legal & General and others eye Deutsche Bank's Abbey Life

Swiss ReLtd., Legal &General Group Plc, China's Anbang Insurance Group Co. and a Canadian pension fundare among firms weighing up bids for Deutsche Bank AG's U.K.-based insurance unit Abbey LifeAssurance Co., Bloomberg News reported April 13, citing "people withknowledge of their plans."

The sources reportedly said Deutsche Bank is looking forbids for the business by the end of the week.

In March, Phoenix Group Holdings was said to be preparing abid for the unit, which is valued atapproximately £1 billion, according to Bloomberg's sources.
