The board of Dubuque, Iowa-based Heartland Financial USA Inc. appointed Jennifer Hopkins a class III director. She will also join the board of Denver-based Citywide Banks, a Heartland subsidiary.

During Heartland's 2018 annual meeting, shareholders voted to expand the number of its directors to 11. Hopkins, who will serve as an independent director until Heartland's annual meeting in 2020, is the 11th member of the board.

Hopkins, 57, is a managing partner at private investment company Crescendo Capital Partners LLC.

Hato Rey, Puerto Rico-based Popular Inc.'s board elected Robert Carrady as an independent director, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Carrady is the president of Caribbean Cinemas.

Financial services

Ryan Rampersaud resigned as BlackRock Inc.'s managing director and global head of client service management, Pensions & Investments reported.

On Feb. 25, 2019, Rampersaud will become managing director and head of client solutions at AQR Capital Management LLC.

Ellie Mae Inc. named Dave Ard senior vice president of enterprise sales.

Ard most recently served as senior vice president of sales and business development at First American Mortgage Solutions.

Matthew Houk and Patrick Brennan joined the board of Emergent Capital Inc. In connection with these appointments, the board fixed its size at eight directors.

Houk has served since 2008 in various capacities, including most recently as portfolio manager and research analyst, for investment management firm Horizon Kinetics LLC. Houk is also a co-portfolio manager for several registered investment companies at Horizon, and also serves as the co-chairman and co-CEO of Winland Holdings Corp.

Brennan is the founder and portfolio manager of Brennan Asset Management LLC.

Cohen most recently worked as COO at MarketCounsel.

Bond has consulted with the CFO Centre Canada since 2013. He has held senior financial and operating positions at MAC Cosmetics and Cover FX Skin Care Inc.
