Chaman Lal Setia Exports Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 53 Indian paise per share, an increase of 43.9% from 37 paise per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 27.1 million rupees, an increase of 41.6% from 19.1 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 2.1% from 2.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 60.0% year over year to 1.29 billion rupees from 805.7 million rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 60.6% year over year to 1.24 billion rupees from 773.6 million rupees.
Reported net income rose 41.6% on an annual basis to 28.6 million rupees, or 56 paise per share, from 20.2 million rupees, or 39 paise per share.
As of July 30, US$1 was equivalent to 60.35 Indian rupees.
