M1 Ltd. rolled out Southeast Asia's first nationwide commercial Narrowband Internet of Things, or NB-IoT, network in Singapore.
The NB-IoT network is expected to enable the utilization of IoT-enabled devices among service providers and businesses, according to an Aug. 7 news release.
M1 and its partners are offering IoT services, including smart energy management, environmental monitoring, asset tracking and fleet management.
Another Singaporean operator, Singtel, is also planning to launch its IoT network nationwide by the end of September, the company announced the same day. Singtel is eyeing businesses and technology partners to test and develop IoT solutions at the company's IoT Innovation Lab.
