U.S. authorities have asked Deutsche Bank AG to provide information about transactions that could be linked to former U.S. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, or entities connected with him, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing "people familiar with the matter."
The inquiry is related to U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election in 2016, the sources said.
Flynn has pleaded guilty to charges of lying to the FBI about his Russian contacts.
Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank said it "takes its legal obligations seriously and remains committed to cooperating with authorized investigations into this matter," the Journal reported.
