Mercuria closes Noble Americas Gas & Power acquisition

Mercuria Energy America Inc. notified the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Oct. 5 that it completed the acquisition of Noble Americas Gas & Power Corp. from Noble Americas Corp.

Mercuria, an independent energy marketing and trading company based in Houston, completed the transaction Sept. 29, according to the FERC filing.

Noble Americas Gas & Power is a power marketer and sells wholesale energy, capacity and certain ancillary services at market-based rates.

Noble Americas announced plans in July to sell its North American business units to raise cash to repay $3 billion in borrowing base revolving credit facilities.

The commission approved the application Sept. 29. (FERC docket EC17-144)
