Saudi bank wins regulatory approval to set up derivatives trading unit

Alawwal Bank, formerly Saudi Hollandi Bank, received local regulatory approval Jan. 18 to set up a fully owned subsidiary in the Cayman Islands.

The company will trade derivatives and take part in repo activities, Alawwal Bank said, noting that the move will not affect its current financial statements.
