NTT DATA Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥6.35 per share, compared with a loss of ¥2.36 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥8.91 billion, compared with a loss of ¥3.31 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.5% from negative 1.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 12.9% on an annual basis to ¥359.95 billion from ¥318.83 billion, and total operating expenses grew 6.9% from the prior-year period to ¥343.45 billion from ¥321.33 billion.
Reported net income totaled ¥6.74 billion, or ¥4.80 per share, compared with a loss of ¥6.01 billion, or a loss of ¥4.28 per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Nov. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥114.66.
