NBCU networks could go dark for Charter subscribers

Charter Communications Inc. subscribers could lose access to NBCUniversal Media LLC's broadcast and cable networks Jan. 1, 2017, due to a dispute over contract terms, Bloomberg News reported Dec. 29.

The Comcast Corp. unit said in a statement that Charter "has been unyielding in its demand for terms superior to those agreed to by the rest of the industry." A Charter spokesman declined to comment.

Charter is reportedly NBCU's third-largest distributor in the U.S.
