All turbines now installed at 1,218-MW UK offshore wind farm

All turbines are now installed at the 1,218-MW Hornsea One project — the world's largest offshore wind farm, located off the U.K.'s Yorkshire coast.

Belgium's Dredging Environmental & Marine Engineering NV said Oct. 4 that all 174 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA 7-MW turbines have been installed at the site, which is jointly owned by Ørsted A/S and Global Infrastructure Management LLC.

When fully commissioned, the project is expected to generate enough power for 1 million homes.
