PepsiCo names new Asia, MENA CEO

PepsiCo Inc. appointed Mike Spanos, current president of the company's Greater China region, as CEO of Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Spanos will replace current Asia and MENA head Sanjeev Chadha, who will become chairman of the region, effective Jan. 1, 2018, and is expected to retire from PepsiCo at the end of the first quarter of 2018.

Ram Krishnan, currently senior vice president and general manager of the global PepsiCo Wal-Mart business, will succeed Spanos as president of the company's Greater China region, effective the same date. Chris Turner, currently senior vice president of transformation for Frito-Lay North America, will become senior vice president and general manager of the global PepsiCo Wal-Mart business.

Spanos and Chadha will report to PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi.
