Invacare cuts 110 jobs in North America as part of ongoing restructuring

Invacare Corp. is reducing its workforce by about 110 employees in North America as part of an ongoing cost realignment.

The company expects to generate about $8.5 million in annualized pretax savings in addition to previously announced restructuring savings.

Invacare expects to incur restructuring charges in the fourth quarter of about $2.6 million on a pretax basis, mainly in the North America/Home Medical Equipment segment and to a lesser extent in the Institutional Products Group segment.

The company will provide customary transition assistance to affected employees.

In June, Invacare closed its manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China, cutting about 150 jobs in the process.
