Amazon rolls out Prime service in India

Amazon.comInc. rolled out its Amazon Prime membership program in more than100 cities across India.

Users in India can now access unlimited free one-day andtwo-day delivery on a range of products, the company said July 26. Prime Videowill be launched later.

Users can sign up for the Prime service for an introductoryannual subscription fee of 499 Indian rupees. The membership program's listedprice is 999 rupees. Consumers can also avail a free 60-day trial period.

Prime members in 20 cities can also choose same-day, morningor scheduled delivery for 50 rupees per order on more than 10,000 products.Prime products will be delivered through the Fulfilment By Amazon channel.

As of July 25, US$1was equivalent to 67.44 Indian rupees.
