Guyana Goldfields Inc. said Jan. 3 that it appointed Perry Holloway as senior vice president of strategy and corporate affairs, effective Jan. 1.
Holloway is a career diplomat with more than 30 years of international experience in Latin America and the Caribbean. Most recently, Holloway was the U.S. ambassador to Guyana and the Caribbean Community.
In his new role, Holloway will focus on all activities involving the Guyana government and matters relating to in-country management and corporate social responsibility.
A group of Guyana Goldfields shareholders, including founder and former Executive Chairman Patrick Sheridan, called for a special meeting by March 12 to replace the company's seven-member board, claiming the current leadership is responsible for the loss of more than C$1 billion in shareholder value since 2016.
